Pressure-relief mattresses & overlays
Alternating-pressure systems, low-air-loss mattresses, foam overlays and gel cushions — for people who cannot reposition themselves often enough.
✓ We verify your benefits first 🚚 Delivered or shippedPressure-relief mattresses, alternating-pressure systems and low-air-loss overlays in Palm Beach County from Scotts Medical Supply, Boca Raton FL.
Pressure injuries develop from sustained pressure over a bony prominence — sacrum, heels, hips, shoulder blades. They are far easier to prevent than to heal, and once one reaches full thickness it becomes a months-long wound care problem.
Support surfaces reduce or redistribute that pressure. Which one you need depends on your risk and, if there is already a wound, on its stage and location.

Is it covered?
Most of what we supply is a Medicare Part B benefit, and most Florida commercial plans and Medicare Advantage plans cover it too, when it is medically necessary and your prescriber has documented why you need it. Coverage is never automatic: it depends on your diagnosis, your plan, and what is written in your chart.
What we do about it: before we deliver your pressure-relief mattresses, we verify your benefits, tell you what your plan says your share will be, and chase any missing paperwork with your prescriber. If your plan will not cover it, we say so up front and quote you a private-pay price instead.
We are enrolled with Medicare as a DMEPOS supplier and we accept Florida Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and a broad list of commercial plans — see the full list.
We do not publish coverage amounts or fee-schedule figures on this site. Allowables differ by state, by plan and by year, and a number that is stale or from the wrong jurisdiction is worse than no number at all. Call us and we will quote your actual benefit.
What your order needs
Sending these together is the single biggest thing that shortens turnaround. Missing documentation, not policy, is what stalls most orders.
- A written order and documentation of the pressure injury risk or the existing wound
- For an existing wound: stage or category, location, size and the treatment plan in place
- Documentation of what has already been tried — repositioning schedule, a lesser support surface — because coverage for the higher-level surfaces generally requires that a lower level was insufficient
- Patient weight and bed dimensions
Providers: fax to (800) 594-1226 or call (800) 304-7030. If something is missing we will call your office rather than sitting on it.
