TENS units & pain management supplies

TENS units, electrodes, lead wires, and hot and cold therapy supplies.

✓ We verify your benefits first 🚚 Delivered or shipped

TENS units, electrodes and hot/cold therapy supplies in Palm Beach County from Scotts Medical Supply, Boca Raton FL.

TENS is not a cure and it is not a painkiller. It is a way of modulating pain signals that works well for some people and not at all for others, and the honest position is that you find out by trying it under your clinician’s direction.

What we can guarantee is that the electrodes keep arriving, because a TENS unit with worn-out electrodes is a drawer ornament.

  • Replacement electrodes in multiple sizes

Brand availability changes. If your clinician specified a product, give us the manufacturer reference number and we will source that item rather than substituting an equivalent.

Is it covered?

Most of what we supply is a Medicare Part B benefit, and most Florida commercial plans and Medicare Advantage plans cover it too, when it is medically necessary and your prescriber has documented why you need it. Coverage is never automatic: it depends on your diagnosis, your plan, and what is written in your chart.

What we do about it: before we deliver your tens units, we verify your benefits, tell you what your plan says your share will be, and chase any missing paperwork with your prescriber. If your plan will not cover it, we say so up front and quote you a private-pay price instead.

We are enrolled with Medicare as a DMEPOS supplier and we accept Florida Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and a broad list of commercial plans — see the full list.

We do not publish coverage amounts or fee-schedule figures on this site. Allowables differ by state, by plan and by year, and a number that is stale or from the wrong jurisdiction is worse than no number at all. Call us and we will quote your actual benefit.

What your order needs

Sending these together is the single biggest thing that shortens turnaround. Missing documentation, not policy, is what stalls most orders.

  • A written order specifying the device, the placement and the treatment parameters
  • Documentation of the pain condition and its duration — coverage generally requires chronic, intractable pain and evidence that other treatments have been tried
  • For a rental-then-purchase pathway, documentation of benefit during the trial period
  • For continuing electrode supply, the number of leads used and the change frequency

Providers: fax to (800) 594-1226 or call (800) 304-7030. If something is missing we will call your office rather than sitting on it.

Frequently asked questions

Does TENS actually work?
For some people, for some kinds of pain, to some degree. The evidence is mixed and the response is individual, which is why coverage usually runs through a trial period. If it helps you, it helps you; if it does not after a fair trial, do not keep buying electrodes for a device in a cupboard.
How often do electrodes need replacing?
They lose adhesion and conductivity after a number of applications — typically a couple of weeks of regular use. Old electrodes deliver poorly and irritate skin. We will put you on a schedule.
Can I use TENS with a pacemaker or implanted device?
Ask your cardiologist first, not us. There are real contraindications for TENS, including implanted electronic devices, pregnancy in certain placements, and placement over the carotid sinus. This is a clinical question and it belongs to your physician.
Do I need a prescription?
For anything billed to Medicare, Medicaid or a commercial plan, yes — and most plans also want chart notes showing why you need it. If you do not have an order yet, we can request one from your prescriber.
How do I know what my plan will pay?
We verify it before we ship and tell you what we found, including your expected share. We do not publish coverage amounts on this site because they vary by plan, by state and by year.
How fast can I get it?
Private-pay and stocked supply items move quickly. Anything requiring prior authorization moves at the speed of your plan — we file it the same day and chase it, but the plan sets the clock.
Can you ship, or do you deliver?
Both. Recurring supplies ship to you anywhere in Florida. Equipment that needs setting up — beds, lifts, mattresses, chairs — we deliver and assemble across Palm Beach and Broward.

Not sure where to start?

Call us and tell us what happened — a surgery, a new diagnosis, a discharge date, a supply you keep running out of. We will tell you what is usually needed, check your benefits, and ask your prescriber for the order if you do not have one yet.
