Accessibility

We build for people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification and high-contrast modes — which is a lot of the people who need what we supply.

Our commitment

A large share of the people who need durable medical equipment also have a vision, hearing, motor or cognitive impairment. A site they cannot use is not a minor inconvenience — it is the same barrier all over again. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we have done

  • Color contrast is measured, not eyeballed. All body text on this site meets or exceeds 4.5:1 against its background, in both light and dark mode. Our brand gold measures about 2.0:1 on white, so it is used only as a decorative fill or against navy — never as text or as a border on a light background.
  • Full keyboard operation. Every link, button and menu can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline, and a skip link to jump past navigation.
  • Semantic structure. Real headings in order, real lists, real tables with header cells, landmarks, and a page title that says where you are.
  • Text alternatives on meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced as noise.
  • Resizable and reflowing. Text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout reflows to a single column without horizontal scrolling.
  • A dark mode that keeps every contrast ratio above the same floor, for people who find bright screens painful.
  • Reduced motion respected — if your system asks for less motion, we remove transitions.
  • No autoplaying media, no pop-ups, no time limits, and no forms that capture health information.

Known limitations

  • Some product images come from manufacturers and their alternative text is generic.
  • Our separate patient, physician, delivery and signature portals are different applications and are not covered by this statement. If you hit a barrier in one of them, tell us and we will help you complete the task another way.
  • PDF documents we make available may not all be fully tagged. Ask and we will provide the content in an accessible format.

If something does not work for you

Call (800) 304-7030 or email intake@scottsmedsupply.com. Tell us the page and what happened. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will get you what you need by phone — nobody should have to fight a website to obtain medical equipment.

We aim to respond within two business days.

Needs Florida sourcing before publish: An accessibility statement should be backed by an actual audit. Before publishing, run an automated scan plus a manual screen-reader pass and update the ‘known limitations’ list with what it finds. Do not claim conformance that has not been tested.
