Breast pumps, handled with care

The Affordable Care Act requires most health plans to include a breast pump, and most people find that out too late to arrange it calmly. Start before the birth if you can — the paperwork is straightforward and it is much easier done in advance than in the first exhausted week.

Brands we carry

We stock, among others: Spectra, Medela, Medline, McKesson, Drive Medical. All brands we carry →

Brand availability changes. If your clinician specified a product, give us the manufacturer reference number and we will source that item rather than substituting an equivalent.

Everyday use

A pump that fits well and is ready before the birth takes one decision off a new parent's list in the first exhausting weeks.

Is it covered?

Most of what we supply is a Medicare Part B benefit, and most Florida commercial plans and Medicare Advantage plans cover it too, when it is medically necessary and your prescriber has documented why you need it. Coverage is never automatic: it depends on your diagnosis, your plan, and what is written in your chart.

What we do about it: before we deliver your breast pumps, we verify your benefits, tell you what your plan says your share will be, and chase any missing paperwork with your prescriber. If your plan will not cover it, we say so up front and quote you a private-pay price instead.

We are enrolled with Medicare as a DMEPOS supplier and we accept Florida Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and a broad list of commercial plans — see the full list.

We do not publish coverage amounts or fee-schedule figures on this site. Allowables differ by state, by plan and by year, and a number that is stale or from the wrong jurisdiction is worse than no number at all. Call us and we will quote your actual benefit.

What you will pay

With Medicare or your plan
We bill your plan directly
You owe only the share your plan sets · we bill a secondary when you have one
Private pay
A plain quote before anything ships
No insurance needed · brand-name or generic to fit the budget

We verify first. Before anything is delivered we tell you what your plan says your share will be. If the plan will not cover it, we say so and quote a private-pay price instead — you decide, nothing is sent on assumption.

What your order needs

Sending these together is the single biggest thing that shortens turnaround. Missing documentation, not policy, is what stalls most orders.

  • A written order or prescription from your obstetric provider (most plans require one even where coverage is mandated)
  • Your due date or delivery date — plans have windows around it
  • Your insurance details so we can confirm which pump models your plan covers, which varies a lot

Providers: fax to (800) 594-1226 or call (800) 304-7030. If something is missing we will call your office rather than sitting on it.

Frequently asked questions

Is a breast pump covered by insurance?
The Affordable Care Act requires most health plans to include breastfeeding equipment and support, but which pump, when you can get it, and whether it is a rental or a purchase all vary by plan. We check yours and tell you which models you can choose from.
When should I order?
Before the birth where your plan allows it. Many plans permit ordering in the third trimester and shipping close to the due date.
Does flange size matter?
A great deal, and the size that comes in the box is not right for most people. A poorly fitting flange hurts, damages tissue and reduces output. Ask us about sizes — we stock a range and it is not an upsell, it is the difference between pumping working and not.
Do you supply replacement parts?
Yes. Valves, membranes, duckbills and tubing wear out and reduce suction long before anyone suspects the parts. Replace them on schedule.
Do I need a prescription?
For anything billed to Medicare, Medicaid or a commercial plan, yes — and most plans also want chart notes showing why you need it. If you do not have an order yet, we can request one from your prescriber.
How do I know what my plan will pay?
We verify it before we ship and tell you what we found, including your expected share. We do not publish coverage amounts on this site because they vary by plan, by state and by year.
How fast can I get it?
Private-pay and stocked supply items move quickly. Anything requiring prior authorization moves at the speed of your plan — we file it the same day and chase it, but the plan sets the clock.
Can you ship, or do you deliver?
Both. Recurring supplies ship to you anywhere in Florida. Equipment that needs setting up — beds, lifts, mattresses, chairs — we deliver and assemble across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade.
