The lymphedema compression benefit

Medicare now has a Part B benefit for lymphedema compression garments and wraps under the Lymphedema Treatment Act. It turns on a documented lymphedema diagnosis, an order, and the treating clinician’s measurements, with set quantities per period. What an order needs

Dressings: type, size and change frequency, plus the wound documentation — location, type, stage or grade, measurements, exudate level — that the quantities are derived from.
Garments: compression class in mmHg, garment style, the limb, the diagnosis, and current limb measurements.
NPWT: which consumables you need from us and who supplies the pump, so nothing falls between the two.
As wounds change: updated measurements — plans reassess quantities against current wound size, and stale measurements stall resupply.

Frequently asked questions

Can you actually match what we specify?

That is the point of stocking 517 wound care items and 787 compression items. Send the order with the manufacturer and product code and we supply that item, not a category equivalent. If something is genuinely unobtainable we say so and propose the alternative to you, not to the patient.

Do you handle NPWT?

We supply NPWT dressings, canisters and consumables. Whether the pump comes from us or from the clinic depends on the arrangement — tell us which and we will work to it.

Who measures for garments?

Your clinician’s measurements govern — taken first thing in the morning before swelling builds. Where a patient is measuring at home we walk them through it and send the measuring guide, and we flag anything that looks inconsistent before ordering.

How fast do supplies move?

Stocked supply items move quickly. Anything needing prior authorization moves at the speed of the plan — we file the same day and chase it, but the plan sets the clock. We will always tell you which of the two you are in.
