What we verify, and what we cannot promise

We check: that your coverage is active, what your plan says your share will be, whether the item needs prior authorization, and what documentation your plan requires from your prescriber.

We cannot promise payment. No supplier can. A verification is a statement of benefits, not a guarantee of claim payment — the final decision rests with your plan and depends on the documentation in your medical record. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.

If a claim is denied we will tell you why, and whether it is worth appealing or fixing the paperwork and resubmitting.

Paying privately

Plenty of people skip insurance on purpose — a small item is not worth the wait, or a deductible has not been met, or the plan simply excludes it. We quote a straightforward price and take all major credit cards.

If you are renting, ask whether rental payments apply toward purchase. For many items they do.

Needs Florida sourcing before publish: This site publishes no dollar figures, allowables or fee-schedule amounts. Any pricing added later must be sourced from the current Florida / Jurisdiction C DMEPOS fee schedule and Scotts' own private-pay price list, and dated.

Frequently asked questions

Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes — we accept Florida Medicaid, including several of the Medicaid managed-care plans. Coverage rules under Medicaid differ from Medicare, so we verify per item.
Will I owe anything?
Usually some share, depending on your plan, your deductible and whether you have secondary coverage. We tell you the expected amount before we deliver rather than surprising you on a bill.
Do I need a prescription?
For anything billed to insurance, yes — and for many items the plan also wants chart notes showing why you need it. Some items can be bought privately without one. If you do not have a prescription yet, we can request one from your doctor.
My plan denied it. Now what?
Call us. Most denials are documentation, not policy — a missing face-to-face note, a diagnosis code that does not match the item, an authorization that lapsed. We will tell you which it is and what fixing it involves.
What is ‘same or similar’?
Medicare will not pay twice for equipment that does the same job within a set period. If you already have, say, a walker on file, a rollator may be denied as same-or-similar. We check this before ordering — it is one of the most common avoidable denials. More on this →

Not sure where to start?

Call us and tell us what happened — a surgery, a new diagnosis, a discharge date, a supply you keep running out of. We will tell you what is usually needed, check your benefits, and ask your prescriber for the order if you do not have one yet.
