How to order wound care supplies with Scotts

How it works, step by step

1. Tell us what you need. Call (800) 304-7030, start in the order wizard, or have your clinician send a referral with the documents attached. If you already use a product, the manufacturer code on the box is the most useful thing you can give us: it settles size, style and fit without guesswork.
2. We verify your benefits first. Medicare Part B, Florida Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and most commercial plans. Before anything ships you hear what the plan covers and what your share is, and if it is not covered we say so and quote a private-pay option instead.
3. We collect the order and the documentation from your prescriber. For wound care supplies that usually means:
   • A written order specifying the dressing type, size and change frequency
   • Wound documentation from the treating clinician — location, type, stage or grade, measurements, and exudate level. Surgical dressing coverage under Medicare is tied directly to this documentation
   • Whether the wound is surgically created or debrided (this affects coverage for surgical dressings)
   • Updated measurements as the wound changes — plans reassess quantities against current wound size
   You do not chase the paperwork; we do, and we tell you if something is missing.
4. Delivery or shipping. Delivered and set up across South Florida, or shipped across Florida, with the instructions you need and a phone number for the questions that come later.

What Medicare looks for

Surgical dressings is covered under Medicare policy LCD L33831, Surgical Dressings. In plain words, the chart has to show this: The record must show a qualifying surgical or debrided wound and document location, size, depth, drainage, dressing size, change frequency and number of wounds. Non-impregnated gauze may be needed as a cover or primary dressing. tape is separately payable only to hold a non-bordered cover/roll gauze, never with an adhesive-bordered dressing. Do not combine hydrating and absorptive dressings on the same wound. The diagnoses it names include non-pressure chronic ulcer of lower limb, pressure ulcer, diabetes with skin complications, varicose veins of lower extremity with ulcer, varicose veins with ulcer and inflammation. How often the policy allows a replacement depends on the item: monthly, ongoing; up to 3 per week.

Negative pressure wound therapy is covered under Medicare policy LCD L33821, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Pumps. In plain words, the chart has to show this: Wound measurements must be recorded at the start and monthly thereafter or coverage stops. reassess monthly. Refill contact must be affirmative and supplies are limited to one month at a time. The diagnoses it names include pressure ulcer, non-pressure chronic ulcer, diabetic skin ulcer, disruption of surgical wound. Resupply under the policy is monthly, ongoing.
