Bath safety & commodes
Shower chairs, tub benches, grab bars, raised toilet seats, commodes and transfer benches — the cheapest equipment in the catalog and the most likely to prevent a hospital admission.
✓ We verify your benefits first 🚚 Delivered or shippedBath safety equipment and commodes in Palm Beach County — shower chairs, tub benches, grab bars, raised toilet seats and bedside commodes from Scotts Medical Supply, Boca Raton FL.
The bathroom is where people fall. Hard surfaces, water, a low toilet, a high tub wall and nothing safe to hold. A hip fracture starts a chain of events that is very difficult to reverse in an older adult, and a grab bar costs almost nothing.
This is the part of the catalog with the best return on money spent, and it is chronically under-ordered.

Brand availability changes. If your clinician specified a product, give us the manufacturer reference number and we will source that item rather than substituting an equivalent.
Is it covered?
Most of what we supply is a Medicare Part B benefit, and most Florida commercial plans and Medicare Advantage plans cover it too, when it is medically necessary and your prescriber has documented why you need it. Coverage is never automatic: it depends on your diagnosis, your plan, and what is written in your chart.
What we do about it: before we deliver your bath safety, we verify your benefits, tell you what your plan says your share will be, and chase any missing paperwork with your prescriber. If your plan will not cover it, we say so up front and quote you a private-pay price instead.
We are enrolled with Medicare as a DMEPOS supplier and we accept Florida Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and a broad list of commercial plans — see the full list.
We do not publish coverage amounts or fee-schedule figures on this site. Allowables differ by state, by plan and by year, and a number that is stale or from the wrong jurisdiction is worse than no number at all. Call us and we will quote your actual benefit.
What your order needs
Sending these together is the single biggest thing that shortens turnaround. Missing documentation, not policy, is what stalls most orders.
- Most bath safety equipment is not covered by Medicare Part B — it is generally treated as a convenience or home-modification item rather than durable medical equipment. Commodes are the usual exception when the patient cannot reach the bathroom
- Some Medicare Advantage plans include an over-the-counter or home-safety allowance that covers these items. Check yours — a lot of people have that benefit and never use it
- For private pay, no prescription is needed
